MEAH Hebrew School
Meah meaning ‘100’ in Hebrew – represents 100 hours of learning together throughout the Meah year
Our Approach
Meah hopes to engage children in a lifelong love of their Progressive Judaism through Jewish music and a Jewish and Hebrew curricula that is tailored to meet the needs of our students.
Our Aims
- Ignite their passion for learning Hebrew and learning skills for our Progressive prayer service in preparation for the B’Mitzvah
- Deepen their understanding of Jewish festivals
- Learn values from the foundational stories in the torah
- Developing a sense of understanding and pride in being Progressive Jews
- Expanding their appreciation for the modern state of Israel
- Build lifelong friendships for children and families
Assessment of Learning
Meah is a very fun experience for children, and therefore we have very little assessment for the children.
Hebrew is the one area we do assess the children in order to progress their learning and ensure they are put with other friends that are at a similar Hebrew ability, in order for them to learn and thrive.
Hours
Sunday mornings: 9am- 12noon
Thursday Afternoons
For our Year 7 students aiming for the B’Mitzvah. Year 5-6 students are encouraged to also attend and get their Hebrew skills further advanced.
Testimonials

"It is already playing an important part in preparing him to navigate the world with compassion, humility, integrity, and a strong sense of identity.” New Meah mother
"Our boys had a wonderful year this year. They are always happy to come to school on Sundays and they bounce out of class 12pm. This really says a lot for the curriculum and the teachers. I know my own experience was very different growing up! hope the school will continue to grow and develop through the coming years." Meah mother
